Kate Middleton Presents Shamrocks to First Battalion Irish Guards

Presenting shamrocks is a tradition started in 1901 by Queen Alexandra, wife of King Edward II. Kate Middleton visited the 1st Batallion Irish Guards yesterday, Saturday, St. Patrick's Day, handing out  three-leafed clover boutonnieres to 40 officers and their mascot, an Irish Wolfhound.
